The Church at Shawnee Landing

The Church at Shawnee Landing (formerly the Payne Avenue Christian Church of North Tonawanda) is working to complete plans for a complex of buildings to serve the needs of Wheatfield, North Tonawanda and surrounding neighborhoods in nearby towns.

We hope to share more specific news with you about a groundbreaking to mark the beginning of construction for our first building, the Family Life Center. As soon as we finalize our plans, we'll be giving you the details right here!

The Church at Shawnee Landing is on a mission to embrace the needs of all generations, and to provide an attractive park-like setting where our neighbors can join us in worship, recreation, education and in celebrating the milestones of life that come to us through the grace of God.

The Church will conduct Sunday worship services initially in the Family Life Center, a multi-purpose building which will also accommodate banquets, craft shows, and some indoor athletic activities.

The Town Homes @ Shawnee Landing are open and currently accepting applications from new tenants. The complex includes 64 units of 104 bedrooms with rents ranging from $400-575 per month. The complex includes ten apartment buildings and a community center that offers a laundramat, restrooms and other rooms for group activities. To find out more, go to www.belmontshelter.org

The Plans are currently being finalized for the first phase of construction on The Church @ Shawnee Landing.

The first building of 15,100 square feet will include the Robert & Lena Butler Family Life Center, a 6,000 square foot all purpose gathering place for banquets, exhibits, classes, movie nights and Sunday worship. The wing to the right will house Safe Haven @ Shawnee Landing, a day care center on weekdays, and a Christian Education facility for weekends. In the Middle will be the main entrance from Baker Drive, including a drive-up area covered by a canopy, and a welcome lobby of approximately 2,100 square feet.

As you can see, siding is being installed on some of the buildings now.







Safe Haven at Shawnee Landing

As we grow, we hope to add "Safe Haven at Shawnee Landing", a child care center to provide peace of mind for working parents. More information will be available soon under the Safe Haven banner on this website.

Additional phases will add a Sunday Worship Center designed to serve an additional role as a venue for concerts, dramatic performances and other events of community-wide interest.

The campus plan also calls for an outdoor pavilion to accommodate picnics and other outdoor activities, and a building that provides space for meetings, conferences and seminars.

Our cluster of buildings will surround a meditation garden and fountain where visitors can find a place for prayer or quiet reflection.

The vision is before us; the plans have been carefully crafted. The future is fast approaching for a new kind of faith experience where families can grow along with us!
