Basic Beliefs of the Disciples of Christ

The Church at Shawnee Landing is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Denomination.

The Disciples of Christ, or Disciples, is the oldest Protestant denomination founded on American soil. A product of the American frontier, circa 1810, it stands for personal freedom and responsibility.

Today the denominational headquarters are in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Disciples are strongest in the mid-western section of our nation, especially in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, and Texas.
